This Policy outlines how we meet our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your Personal Information.

Individuals have the option, to interact with the OAIC anonymously or using a pseudonym. Where reasonably possible. For example, if you contact the OAIC enquiries line with a general question, you will not be asked for your name unless it is required to adequately handle your enquiry.

 

However, for most of your interactions with the OAIC your name, contact information and enough information about the matter will be required to enable the OAIC to deal with the matter fairly and efficiently.

 

Accessing & Correcting Your Information

 

You may request access to the information we hold about you at any time by contacting us. We will respond to your request within a reasonable time.  There is no fee for making a request. We take all reasonable steps to ensure that the information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up-to date. We encourage you to advise us as soon as there is a change to your contact details.

 

Information about another person or other people

 

If you provide information about any other person, you will inform them that you are providing this information to us, the reason you are providing their information, the fact that we have collected personal information from you, and of the contents of this Statement and Consent.
