About Me

Hi,

I’m Kirsty — therapist, social worker, parent, and founder of Mind Co.

I’ve been walking alongside children, families, and individuals for over 15 years, offering therapeutic support that’s compassionate, evidence-based, and grounded in lived experience. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) and Social Planning from Flinders University (2008) and am an accredited member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

My career has taken me across government, non-government, not-for-profit, and private sectors — from child protection to mental health and disability support. I’ve worked with people in crisis, in transition, and in growth, and through it all, my approach has remained the same: lead with connection, curiosity, and care.

Today, I hold a strong interest in neuroaffirming therapeutic support for children, teens, and adults — particularly those with autism, PDA and anxiety. I also work closely with parents, especially those navigating the challenges of raising a child with a PDA profile.

This work is deeply personal to me. I’m a mum of two, including a PDAer — so I know what it feels like to parent through meltdowns, misunderstandings, and moments of deep uncertainty. That lived experience informs everything I do, from the way I listen to the tools I share.

At Mind Co, therapy isn’t about fixing. It’s about finding safe ground, practical strategies, and small moments of calm that grow into lasting change.

If you're looking for someone who truly gets it — both professionally and personally — you're in the right place.

Vision

A world where neurodivergent individuals and their families feel deeply understood, genuinely supported, and confidently connected. Growing from daily distress into thriving relationships filled with calm and trust.

Mission

To deliver personalised, neuro-affirming therapy and guidance grounded in lived experience and professional expertise. Helping individuals and families navigate challenges like autism, PDA, anxiety, emotional regulation, and mental health with connection, curiosity, and compassion.

Purpose

Mind Co. exists to support neurodivergent individuals and their families by providing compassionate, practical, and neuro-affirming therapeutic support, parent coaching, and educational resources.

Our focus is on helping people feel understood, build calm and connection, and empower families with tools that work in real life, rather than simply “fixing” behaviours.

Core Values

Neuro-affirmation & Respect

They centre neurodiversity and respect unique nervous systems and lived experiences in all work they do.

Connection over Compliance

Their therapeutic and coaching models emphasise building trust, safety, and genuine connection rather than forcing behaviour change.

Compassion & Curiosity

A compassionate, curious, low-pressure approach shapes how they interact with clients and families.

Practical Support & Real-World Tools

Resources and therapy are framed around real life application — strategies that work and that are meaningful.

Lived Experience Integration

The founder’s personal experience as both a clinician and parent directly informs their approach — a value that honours both professional and lived insight.

Fun Facts About Me

When I’m not supporting individuals or families, or developing new resources for Mind Co, you’ll usually find me running, soaking up fresh air, or cuddling my Border Collie, Nudge. I believe deeply in the power of movement, connection, and small moments of joy.

Some of my favourite things:

🐾 My dog Nudge (and all the cuddles)

🏃‍♀️ Running and being active outdoors

🌊 The beach — The sound of the waves

☕ Good coffee and long chats with good people

📚 A stack of books I fully intend to finish

🧡 Talking all things neurodivergence, parenting, and what makes people tick

I bring honesty, and a lot of heart into everything I do — because therapy, like life, should feel human.
